Production Week 5

Production Week 5

Welcome to the 5th sprint of production, the second-last week of feature implementation! This means that soon our game will be in beta!! Argh!!!

We have the game mechanics in place and a newly reworked environment!

Our geniuses worked full time on the randomized spawning algorithm for some gameplay elements, which now also has a higher density terrain! Don't ask me what kind of witchcraft made it possible, but someone here managed to enable multithreading optimization for the terrain which is now loading super fast!

On gameplay, the power resource now has a mesh which changes over charging levels, to communicate when it's ready to be brought back to the ship.

And the cherry on the top... music!

Our friend and collaborator Greg provided us some smooth tunes for the environment music! The planet has never felt so alive :) We highly recommend taking a look at his Spotify: Gregory's Pharmacy Dang!

As I anticipated, all the main mechanics are there. The main purpose of our survivor is to repair the ship and escape gravity, so we finally allow for collection of ship parts and final repair! And when you're ready, you can leave the planet!

The player grabbing mechanic has also changed to a more natural behavior. Objects are attracted to the hands!

Also some UI polish went into production. The warning messages can now stack up, up to 3 messages at the same time! And we have a UHD design!

The main menu 3D environment is also on the way to be implemented. Just a step away from landing!

Spaceship is also been tuned up and textured ;)

Go try it out ;)
