Production Week 4


Good morning everyone! Group13 here :) We're delivering big this week! Don't miss out!


We have introduced one of our first ideas to the game, one that is going to be hated by our nyctophobic fans... DAY and NIGHT CYCLES! The sun is rotating (or the planet...? And yet it moves...)  creating a dynamic light and dark cycle. Some props will lit up to guide the players, while others will remain in the shadow...


Meanwhile, we're implementing the score system, in preparation of the UI and final pass on game mechanics. Score and Time are now present on the UI. Score increases over time, and when submitting resources to the ship. At the end of the run, the player can also submit a name! Our coders where also busy dealing with some environment features, like world zone management and grass generation, on which we're still working on ;)

 

We have the first version of our alien plants! There are 3 variants in total, 2 dangerous and 1 friendly, with unique behaviors! They will be the source of oxygen on the planet...

Our main ship is being replaced with a different model, trying to improve readability and functionality with our new FIX system. The player will be able to collect all parts missing from the ship and leave the planet, factually submitting their score! But you'll be able to chose when you feel ready for it...

 

The art team also added a fancy shader to the lava pools, to embellish the warmest parties in the galaxy!


We're also working on our first RFXs, with smoke and fire effects on spaceship and asteroids. The UI for meteor impact is also being tweaked!
